Art and Ceremony
Art is often a ceremony in and of itself; creating a memory of an important event can be what you want to make of it.
A Blessingway Ceremony is a event that centers you and the transition you are experiencing, with the support of your loved ones; read more below.
I offer these services and more--if you'd like something offered that you don't see here, please contact me. There are special discounts available for combinations, so please ask! I also accept trade or barter and offer sliding-scale services if money is a barrier.
Placenta prints $20
-These are best made immediately postpartum so if you're interested, contact me to set up a plan. Also possible to make with a frozen placenta. Available in natural or in colors (with food-grade colorants) and printed on acid-free paper.
Pregnancy belly cast (plain or painted) $45
-Casts are best made just before 38 weeks-to maximize the belly profile and minimize the risk of going into labor! Made with plaster cloth and acrylic paints (if decoration is desired).
Baby belly painting $25
-That belly is just asking to be shown off! I am currently working with a homemade, non-toxic paint that will not harm your skin or your baby.
Artwork for remembrance or processing (varied)
-What do you want to remember? What images do you hold in your mind? What artistic expression will help you release feelings or trauma you have about your experience? I will work with you to create a piece that suits your needs and preferences.
Portal Ceremony
-(For Pregnancy)-Most celebrations around becoming a parent focus on the child to be born--but what about the person bringing that life into the world? At a Portal Ceremony, you'll make a list of the people you want to take care of you as you celebrate YOUR transition and also set up a support network for after it happens. You tell me your preferences for music, singing, dancing, herbal baths and more, and I take care of the planning for the special day. Includes free baby belly painting by Bailey or guests if desired.
-(For Pregnancy Release)-A pregnancy release can be a difficult time for a person as myriad hormones and emotions often surround the release, no matter the circumstances. This Portal Ceremony centers the person, letting them know they have love and support and gives ritual to the very human experience of releasing a pregnancy. Special attention will be given to expressing emotion and setting up a support network for continued well-being after the release. Similar to the above description, you will provide a guest list and preferences and I will organize. Includes free art piece created by Bailey and/or guests if desired.
